Available Dogs
These are a few of the dogs currently available through Lab Rescue of Greater Richmond. Please check our Petfinder site as well. New dogs are posted there as well.
If you are interested in adopting a Lab from us, please submit a completed application. Please allow up to 10 days to hear from us if you mail your application to us. If you submit your application online, or by e-mail, you can expect to hear from us within one week. Please be patient as we are all volunteers. Once we receive your completed application, one of our volunteer adoption coordinators will contact you for an interview and explain our process. If you are approved, the coordinator will work with you to match you with your new family member. Please keep in mind that we make every attempt to find the right home for each individual dog, taking into account their history, behaviors, etc.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. The adoption process requires an approved application, a contract and a non-refundable adoption fee of $250.00 for dogs up to 7 years of age and $200.00 for dogs 8 years old and over. Adoptions are contingent on the successful completion of a home visit either before or following the adoption. If you have questions about our process, please e-mail us or give us a call. Thanks for your interest in adopting a Lab!
Rebel (#12-002)

Rebel is one sweet guy. He is a 5 year old easy going boy who gets along well with other dogs, and cats are also not a problem. Rebel's tail never stops wagging. He enjoys meeting new people and likes the attention from children. At meal times,he wags his whole (80 lb.) body while consuming his food. Rebel does well in the home and does not need to be crated.
It is a pleasure to take Rebel on his daily walk. He does not pull and walks nicely on lead. This boy just wants to be with you where he can sit close and lay his big head on your lap.
To be considered to be Rebels head holder, please complete an
application.
Sammie (#11-052)

This is a very sweet 5 year old female. Knowing sit, stay, no, come , and "get in". With that last command she trots right into her crate where she is content. She enjoys walks and is a polite lady on lead. Sammie is fine with children, is enjoying a life of leisure in her foster home where she has settled into the family recliner. Playing with her foster brother is fun, but he just would rather relax under a tree. Do you have the time to play with her? Complete an
application for a volunteer to contact you.
Fisher (#11-051)

Fisher is a 5 year old neutered chocolate male. He weighs about 80 pounds but could probably stand to lose a few, he certainly likes to eat! He is up to date on his shots and is heartworm negative. He is good with other dogs and really likes his 1 1/2 year old human foster brother. He knows some commands including sit, stay and come. He walks well on a lead but does get excited at times so he needs to be reminded not to pull. He's super friendly and loves to follow you around the house or relax on a bed - his or yours! He likes to ride in the car, in the front seat of course, and enjoys exploring the outdoors but doesn't have the urge to run off. If you are looking for a relaxed lab, but one that still has that occasional hint of youth then Fisher is the boy for you! Complete an
application and a volunteer will contact you.
Emma (#11-034)

Emma is 7 years old! She doesn't look or act a day over 5. This sweet lab enjoys other dogs, and is wonderful around children. She is strong on lead, but learns very quickly. Emma does retrieve, running after her squeeky toys is a great passtime for her. Riding is the car is a wonder to her, getting to see all the sights and smell the world. She loves it! She is fully vetted and ready for her new home. Emma has the lab lean down to a science, and adores everybody. They are there to be her best friend and constant belly rubber. Can you offer that to this girl? Complete an
application and a volunteer will contact you.
Cain (#11-025)

Cain came to us many months ago begging for help. This 4 year old neutered boy is sweeter than honey. He adores people, and will follow you around all day. Cain enjoys walks and sniffing the whole wide world. He is cratetrained (though he doesn't need to be crated), loves his chew bone, and settles at your feet nicely. From his fosters: "Cain is the silliest dog we've met. He wants to play with his foster sister so badly, but she is too dignified for that kind of play. But he doesn't stop trying , because one day she just might notice him". Retrieving is a favorite passtime, as is watching the squirrels scurry up trees. Cain weighs in at 84 lbs., good with dogs, kids 6+, and ready for 2012 to be his year. To be considered for this awesome lab/hound mix, please complete an
application today.
