The Zuki Fund is dedicated to those labs who have extraordinary needs and medical issues. Zuki was a Shiba Inu, adopted by a wonderful woman who knew and understood his pain. She too had mountains to climb, but had the support of friends. Zuki needed that support. Little did he know that this special person was about to change the rest of his life.....for the better. He had been bitten by a rattlesnake as a puppy; and was on meds...no one wanted him-except her. She spent over $10,000 on him...had a catscan: an MRI, he was on lots of meds...still the neurotoxicity spread and worsened. He was never without pain. Her love for him is endless, to this day. He gave to her the unconditional love, adoration, and kindness that they both needed at that time. Money didn't stand between helping this awesome creature, and neither did the love and support he was so lucky to have.

From one of Lab Rescue of Greater Richmonds Volunteers: "Each time I walk into a shelter, I could cry. Some days I can't go in. I have to have someone bring the dog to me. Each and everyone one of our volunteers would go to the ends of the Earth to help these discarded animals. Running this organization on passion and a prayer is, at times, so challenging. Vet care costs rise almost monthly, but our fees do not. Our volunteers fundraise to the best of their abilities."

Right now we have a boy named Cain, who came to us at only 57lbs, but should be in the mid 80's. He was heartworm positive. Almost bald from lack of or mal-nutrition, bacterial infections, yeast infections, and allergies, he is getting his coat back slowly with good, healthy food. He is under dermatology care, dealing with more infection than you or I could ever handle. THIS is an example of what ZUKI'S FUND will help care for.

Each year Lab Rescue of Greater Richmond takes in the unwanted lab, the stray, lost, hurt and loving lab. LRGR provides medical care, training, socializing, and unconditional love. But this comes at a price. If you would like to donate to this special fund honoring a very special ZUKI, please click on the button below, or send to : LRGR, PO Box 1574, Midlothian, VA, 23113. Please denote "Zuki's Fund".

A BIG Thank You to Melanie and Zuki for continuing to love and appreciate all animals!!
