Daisy and Duke
*Bonded Pair Available*

Must Know:

  • Daisy & Duke, bonded sister & brother, both 7 years old, yellow & red, 73 lbs each

  • Dog Friendly

  • Cats unknown

  • Fenced yard required; no electric/invisible fencing

  • Kids 8+

  • Low energy

Meet Daisy & Duke

Everyone wants to cuddle with loved ones for Valentine’s Day! Meet Daisy & Duke, both 73-lb cuddle-bugs. These two 7 yr old labs are a bonded pair who would love to bond with you, too! They are looking for a home with a fenced-in yard. Low energy, Daisy & Duke enjoy following you around the house & then settling down near you.

Daisy & Duke are house trained & don’t counter-surf or trash-dive; they are trustworthy at home for several hours (without crating). They get their exercise in a fenced-in yard. Daisy is starting to do short walks on a leash, while Duke is being trained to overcome some anxiety about a harness or leash. They don’t know any commands yet, but both are eager to come to you just because they like your company!

Duke likes to cuddle up next to you in your bed, while Daisy sleeps – and snores! – in her own bed on the floor. Daisy nuzzles up to you and puts her head in your lap; she gives mini-kisses, too. These two lovebugs will be a pleasure to have in your home,

MEDICAL INFO:

These dogs have some arthritis in their hips & back legs. Both are on Gabapentin & Carprofen. Duke is also on Clopamine for anxiety as well as Adequan & Phycox for his joints. Daisy’s arthritis keeps her from going up a full flight of steps, though she manages 3 steps to/from the yard. Duke needs knee surgery for a luxating patella. Even if he is home with you, LRGR will pay for the surgery at LRGR's vet in Richmond with our orthopedic surgeon, but be aware that he’ll need 6-8 weeks for recovery.

Hope you can open your heart during this season of love and bring these snuggle-bugs home.

As you are looking at the photos, Daisy is yellow-white, with more prominent ears, and Duke is a little darker, more of a red-yellow lab.

Gus
*Available*

Must Know:

  • Gus, 1 year old, male

  • Dog friendly - required to have a buddy

  • Cat friendly

  • Kid friendly, 8+

  • Medium energy

Meet Gus

Hiya friends, my name is Gus. I am a playful one year old dog’s dog and I really love to play with other four legged friends! Playing chase and wrestling with my K-9 buddies is the highlight of my day. I can be a little nervous in new situations and need just a little time to warm up. I will try my very best if you give me lots of encouragement. I am more confident when I’m with my buddies. A quick “you got this, Gus!” is the key to my heart. I am so excited to meet my forever family so they can teach me everything I need to know.

I am very dog friendly and submissive - I really enjoy their companionship. My new house is required to have a pup friend for me so I can gain lots of confidence! I also am cat friendly - I am the most loving guy once I settle in. When meeting new people I can be a little timid but I have been told, I am a gentleman!

I have been learning a lot with my foster family and have almost mastered “sit!” I am food motivated; this is good because it will help me during training. As the resident good boy, I have been described as submissive, loveable, and playful. I love to be around my people, go for adventure walks, play with toys and other pup friends.

Quincy
*Pending Adoption*

Must Know:

  • Dog friendly, Yes

  • Cat friendly, Unknown

  • Kid friendly: 8 +

  • Separation anxiety- Controlled well with Trazodone

  • Loves Attention & will follow you from room to room

  • Enjoys walks

  • Very affectionate and loves a belly rub

  • Not destructive and sleeps through the night

Meet Quincy

Looking for an affectionate companion at home? Pick me! My name is Quincy; I am an easygoing 2.5 year old boy who would love to keep you company.

If you already have another dog at home, I’d be friendly with him/her/ Or if it will just be me, I’ll be your best companion, hanging out at your feet, coming when you call my name, and being easy to walk around our neighborhood.

I absolutely love being at home with you, but I get anxious when you leave, so you need to give me some Trazodone to help me with that. And I’m really scared of that crate-thing, so that’s not a good option for me right now. But I sleep well next to your bed at night.

I’m an excellent communicator. If I need to go out, I’ll stand at the door and then bark if you don’t notice. If I need some exercise, I’ll let you know by getting all wiggly, though, like a teenager, I might also get a little mouthy with you.

I adore neighborhood walks together! I love to meet our neighbors and I’ll be friendly with other dogs, too. If neighbors come to our house to visit, I can get really excited and jump up, but then I’ll settle down when you tell me to.

I know how to sit when you tell me, especially if you are holding a magical treat because I am very food-motivated. My foster mom says I am a “surfer” because if you leave food where I can reach it, then I try to eat it. I like to play with lick mats and food-stuffed toys.

So if you work from home and want a loyal friend to be with you, pick me! Or if you are retired and want a lovebug at home, pick me! If you like to get outside to take little walks with a friend, pick me! We can be best friends fur-ever!

Meet  Benny

Benny is a very sweet and cuddly 6-7 year old boy who loves dogs, cats, and all people including kids. He is gentle and quiet, with a low to medium energy level and does have the occasional zoomie later in the day. He’s food-motivated and can shake and give paw and will nudge for attention. He is very dog social and will adjust his play style to the other dogs around him. He is not crated and can be left out, provided that there is no food left on the counters. He’s housetrained and sleeps all night in his own bed, but will happily join the human bed if invited. He does require a 6 foot fence as he can jump anything lower and will go after small animals outside if given the chance. (Never inside the house, he loves his dog and cat foster siblings!) He loves leash walks and car rides and being with his people! Would be a great addition to any home, and would also be fine as an only-dog with enough exercise and attention.

Clover’s inquisitive nature shines through as she explores the world, one scent at a time, and greets new friends during her leisurely strolls.

Clover would thrive in a vibrant, active household, especially one with a canine companion to share in her adventures. She’s an

intelligent pup, already mastering commands like sit, down, and come. While we’re perfecting her outdoor potty routine, her keen intellect

assures us she’ll excel in no time. To channel her youthful energy, Clover enjoys engaging activities such

as puzzle feeders like Kongs smeared with peanut butter, spirited walks, and playful interactions with both humans and other dogs. She’s

on the cusp of discovering the joys of swimming in the river, just waiting to put on a bit more weight to navigate the waters with ease.

As dusk falls, Clover transforms into the ultimate cuddle companion, ready to curl up in bed and claim her favorite spot—right atop your pillow. Bufred
*Available*

Must Know:

  • Bufred, 5-6 year old black male, 87 lbs

  • Dog friendly

  • No cats

  • Kids unknown

  • Medium energy level

Meet  Bufred

The king of expressive looks and head tilts, Bufred is poised to win your heart!

Bufred loves to play and run outside but he’s quick to settle in and get comfy once inside. He loves affection and will lay his big, handsome head in your lap for a good snuggle sesh on the couch.

This sweet boy is happy going for walks, playing in the yard, relaxing at home, pulling every single toy out at one time, and taking naps on his back. Bufred is house trained, is getting very good at “come” and improving with “sit,” walks well with minimal pulling, and is an excellent car rider.

At 5-6 years of age, Bufred is just the sweetest boy who loves human attention but can take a few minutes to warm up to some men. He is less comfortable around pushy, high energy dogs. He will tolerate other dogs, vocalizing his feelings when needed, but mostly he’s indifferent and co-existing. Bufred hasn’t lost touch with his natural instincts and has a fairly strong prey drive. He’ll do best in a home with no other types of pets he could chase.

It’s hard not to fall for Bufred’s loving, silly charm! He’s a fast learner and eager to please. He’ll thrive in a home in a low-traffic neighborhood with a yard and patient humans who can help him adjust as he grows to become your most loyal and loving family member. If you open your heart and home to this big fella, you will be rewarded with love and laughter for years to come!
