LRGR provides a microchip for every dog in our care. Most dogs have their microchip implanted during their vet visit. If your new pup does not have a chip implanted, a chip will be mailed to you. Please have your vet insert the chip during his/her next vet visit.

Registering Your Microchip

What is a microchip?
A microchip is a small, electronic chip enclosed in a glass cylinder that is about the same size as a grain of rice. The microchip itself does not have a battery—it is activated by a scanner that is passed over the area, and the radiowaves put out by the scanner activate the chip. The chip transmits the identification number to the scanner, which displays the number on the screen. The microchip itself is also called a transponder.

If your pet has a microchip implanted by LRGR,  you will need to register the chip with Fetch-ID

After registration, you will be able to complete your pet's profile, update your contact information at any time, upload a photo, enter medical information, and add an alternative contact all online. This information links your pet to you so that he or she can be returned home safely.
