Meet Our Pack
Typically, there are 10-15 dogs available for adoption. For enlarged images, please click on the gallery photos. Prospective adopters must obtain pre-approval before adoption. Visit the adoption process page for more information on how to adopt. For heartworm details, click the large heart icon adjacent to the dog's name.
LRGR Foster To Adopt
The Foster to Adopt (FTA) program offers a wonderful chance for LRGR to assist a dog requiring rescue. Approved adopters can pair with an FTA-approved dog, intending to adopt. Throughout the FTA period, LRGR ensures the dog is examined by one of our approved veterinarians, receiving all necessary vaccines, fecal and heartworm tests, and spay/neuter procedures at our cost.

Meet Luigi
My name is Luigi.
I’ve been waiting a long time for you to find me. It’s been nearly three years since I first came to LRGR. Every day I hope for the moment when I finally get to walk through the door of my very own home. I’m ready to give all of my love to someone special—maybe that’s you.
I’m not the typical dog. I’m a bit of a quiet soul, a little reserved, but once you understand me, I promise I’ll give you my whole heart. I’m deeply loyal, and I’ll always stand by you. I can be the most loving companion, but I need someone who is patient and willing to take the time to get to know me. I thrive in a calm, peaceful environment. I find comfort in routine and in knowing what’s coming next. I need a home where things are steady and predictable, where I can feel safe and secure.
When I first meet people, I might seem a little distant. It’s not because I don’t want to love—I do, so much. But I need to trust you first. And when I do? You’ll have a friend for life. I’ll be by your side through thick and thin, offering you unwavering loyalty and love in its purest form. There’s something so special about the bond I share with those who take the time to understand me.
I’m not a fan of loud noises or too much commotion. I don’t like the chaos of a home with children. I need be in a quieter space, where I can feel the peace that I crave. If you’re an adult only home who can offer me that, I promise I’ll fill your home with so much joy and affection.
I love getting outside. Trail walks and hikes are some of my absolute favorite things to do. I also enjoy swimming and playing with my doggy friends, especially those who can match my playful energy. If you have a dog who’s up for fun and adventure, I’ll be more than happy to join in! I just need space to run, a safe yard where I can stretch my legs and feel free.
I’ve been here a long time, and every day I dream of a family to call my own. It’s hard, sometimes, feeling like I’m waiting… but I know that the right person is out there. If you’re patient, kind, and understanding, I promise I will be the best companion you could ever ask for. My love is endless, my heart is open, and I’m waiting for the moment when I can finally be yours.
If you think you could be the one to give me a home, please take a chance on me. I may not be like every other dog, but that’s what makes me special. I know I have so much to give, and I’m just waiting for you to see it.
With all the love I have to give,
Luigi

Meet Daisy & Duke
We know bonded pairs can get overlooked, but we don’t understand why — we’re twice the love, twice the loyalty, and twice the snuggles! We’ve been together through it all, and our favorite place in the world is right next to each other… and you.
I’m Daisy, the happy-go-lucky, wiggly one! I may be 8 years old, but I still light up when it’s walk time (so much so that I forget I have a little arthritis — who can blame me?!). I love chasing squirrels, sniffing around the yard, and leaning into my humans for some good ear scratches. I’ll never turn down a belly rub, and I’ve been told my smile could melt hearts. I’m playful, affectionate, and always ready for love.
And I’m Duke, Daisy’s big brother and loyal protector. I take my job seriously — I always make sure she’s okay, whether it’s checking on her in the morning or waiting to eat until she’s ready. I love watching the world from the window and keeping an eye on the yard — I like to think of myself as the official house supervisor. I’m calm, gentle, and happiest when I can curl up near Daisy or my people.
We both love a fenced yard where we can explore together, then come inside and become the ultimate couch potatoes. We’re great with other dogs and have done wonderfully around children 8 and up. We haven’t met any cats yet, so that’s still a mystery.
We’re looking for a home with minimal stairs and plenty of comfy spots to lounge. What we really want is to spend our golden years in a home where we’re safe, loved, and together — always.

Meet Chloe
I’m an 8-year-old, 83-pound sweetheart who’s spent my whole life living outside. I’ve never had a cozy dog bed, a spot on the couch, or the comfort of being inside with my people — but I dream about that life every day. I know there’s a home out there where I’ll be more than just a dog in the yard… I’ll be part of the family.
I lived with another dog before and get along well with canine friends. I’m also cat-friendly and love meeting people — especially the kind who offer ear rubs and belly scratches! I haven’t lived inside before, but I’m curious and ready to learn. I just need someone patient and kind who will show me the ropes and help me figure out how to be the best indoor companion I can be.
Even though I’ve missed out on a lot, I’ve got a zest for life! I love being outside, especially if there’s a chance to splash in the water — swimming is my absolute favorite! I also adore playing fetch, exploring the yard, and going for walks. I can be a little strong on the leash at first (I get so excited!), but I settle down quickly once we get moving.
What I want more than anything is a fresh start — a home where I can live inside with my people, finally relax, and be part of the everyday moments. I know with a little guidance and a lot of love, I’ll make an amazing addition to your life.

Meet Mr. Black
Mr. Black is a 7-year-old Labrador/mix with a calm and easygoing nature that makes him the perfect laid-back companion. This handsome boy enjoys the simple pleasures in life—lounging on the couch, napping on his back, and quietly hanging out near his humans. He’s just as happy curling up in his own space as he is snuggling beside you for a relaxing evening.
Mr. Black doesn’t need constant attention or a busy household to be content. He’s a true couch potato at heart but still enjoys some fun! Tug-of-war is his game of choice, and he happily works on a Nylabone or Kong filled with peanut butter to keep himself entertained.
While he doesn’t need a playmate, Mr. Black seems to enjoy the companionship of another calm dog in the home—someone to share the day with, even if they’re just quietly snoozing side-by-side.
If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, lovable guy to share your couch, your heart, and your peanut butter stash, Mr. Black might be the perfect match.

Meet Moose
There’s something special about Moose. Maybe it’s the way he melts into your side for snuggles or the little happy grunts he makes when he leans against you for attention. Maybe it’s the way he’ll catch a toy tossed into the air with a spark of joy—only to return right back to being your perfect couch companion. Whatever it is, this sweet chocolate boy has a heart as rich and warm as his fur.
Moose is a 2- to 3-year-old, 71-pound lovebug who was found as a stray but hasn’t let that hard start keep him from embracing love and comfort. He’s dog-friendly and has been respectful and easygoing with an elderly beagle in his foster home. He’d likely enjoy a playful companion his own size—but honestly, he’s just as happy soaking up all the attention as an only dog.
He’s crate trained, house trained, and walks beautifully on a leash (except when he spots deer—then his playful instincts kick in!). Moose knows a few basic commands and is motivated by food and affection. While he may bark when new people approach, especially men, it only takes a moment for him to warm up and melt into a puddle of affection.
Moose has met children as young as 2 and done great around them. He especially loved spending time with a 13-year-old who visited for the weekend—snuggling, playing, and soaking up all the love. Because of his size and occasional bursts of playful energy, he’d be best suited to a home with kids over 6.
If you’re looking for a companion who will follow your lead—active when you’re up, curled beside you when you’re resting—Moose is your guy. He’s a laid-back, loyal snuggler with a gentle spirit and so much love to give.
Moose is neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on preventatives, and ready to meet his forever family. Whether you're in a house with a yard or a cozy apartment, Moose will thrive as long as he has your love.

Meet Benjamin
Some dogs just have a way of wrapping themselves around your heart the moment you meet them—and Benjamin is one of those dogs.
Benjamin is a playful, affectionate, goofy soul who’s ready to find his forever home. He was originally a beloved gift for a granddaughter who, due to life changes, could no longer keep him. His current caretaker loves him dearly but can’t provide the time or attention Benjamin truly deserves.
This handsome boy is dog-social and full of love for everyone he meets. He greets new people with enthusiasm and then melts into a mellow snuggler once he’s gotten his tail wags out. He’s easygoing, confident, and loves attention—from belly rubs to fetch to splash sessions in a kiddie pool.
Benjamin knows a few basic commands like sit and paw (especially if there’s a treat involved!), and though he has a stubborn streak, it only adds to his charm. He’s crate trained, house-aware, and enjoys yard time, tug-of-war, and lounging in his screened porch. He’d do best in a home with a yard to play in and humans who appreciate a loyal, curious companion who might circle once or twice before settling in for a nap.

Tucker
*Pending Adoption*

Energy level active puppy
Meet Tucker
Tucker is a happy, energetic 7-month-old pup who is all about playtime and making new friends—especially the four-legged kind! Dog-social and full of zoomies, Tucker thrives on interaction and loves to chase, run, and wrestle with canine pals. He’s a curious boy who delights in fluttering butterflies and twinkling lightning bugs—but no chickens, please! He finds them a little too fun to chase.
Tucker enjoys yard play and is always on the lookout for a play buddy, whether it’s a dog or a human. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, and go to bed (crate). His favorite toys include anything that squeaks, especially his fuzzy puppy toy.
Tucker will serenade you with a howl when he hears emergency sirens, and he absolutely adores affection—pets, belly rubs, and snuggles are his love language. He enjoys being around children, though he’s still learning not to be quite so bouncy or mouthy during play. That being said, a bit older children may be best.
Tucker is a playful, loving, active boy who would thrive in a home with another playful dog and people who enjoy his puppy energy and zest for life!
