The Foster to Adopt (FTA) program offers a wonderful chance for LRGR to assist a dog requiring rescue. Approved adopters can pair with an FTA-approved dog, intending to adopt. Meet Chanel

Hello prospective family, I’m Chanel, a cheerful one-year-old gal with a tail that’s always in

motion! Though I may start off a bit reserved, I warm up quickly, especially if there is a ball

involved for some fetching fun! You’ll often find me lounging by my kiddie pool, soaking up the

sun for that perfect tan, or eagerly nudging you to join in a game of tug of war.

At the dog park, I can’t contain my excitement and may bark enthusiastically at my newfound

pals. I’m on the lookout for a family with a spacious backyard and a matching energy level, as I

thrive on plenty of activity. Food is my weakness, and I’ve got the basics down pat - sit, stay, and come are a breeze for me. While I still pull a tad on walks due to my sheer excitement for

exploring, I’m getting better with each outing.

House training? Check! I will let you know when nature calls and it’s time for a quick outdoor

jaunt. As I drift off to sleep in my crate, I dream of endless ball chasing adventures. Could your

home be the perfect fit for a spirited pup like me?

Are you searching for a fun-loving, energetic buddy to join you on hikes, swims, & all of life's adventures with some quirks as an extra-bonus feature? If so, Luigi might just be the perfect match for you! This charming boy has been on the lookout for his forever home for two years, & he's more than ready to bring joy & excitement into your life.

What Luigi Loves + Needs:

Hiking: Luigi thrives on long hikes, loves discovering new trails, & freely running in wide open fields. He’s always ready to hit the ground running & explore the great outdoors. Regular hiking, being on trails, & freely running in wide open fields provides Luigi the mental stimulation & physical activity he needs daily.

Swimming: Luigi is a water lover! Whether it's a pond, lake, or any body of water, he can't resist the opportunity to splash around & swim. He loves to just swim laps!

Routine and Structure: Luigi requires a home where he can have a consistent routine & structure. He needs someone who can provide him with a stable schedule to help him feel secure & balanced. When Luigi’s schedule isn’t consistent, he struggles.

Understanding + Patience: Luigi has his quirks, but with a whole lot of patience + understanding, he can blossom into a loving & loyal companion. He needs someone to appreciate + accept him for who he is & not try to change him.

Luigi would thrive in home with adults who are very active & can provide the structure & routine he needs. He LOVES other dogs & enjoys being part of a pack. Luigi is looking for a patient + understanding owner who can love his quirks & provide the stable environment he needs to flourish.

Daisy and Duke
*Bonded Pair Available*

Must Know:

  • Daisy & Duke, bonded sister & brother, both 7 years old, yellow & red, 73 lbs each

  • Dog Friendly

  • Cats unknown

  • Fenced yard required; no electric/invisible fencing

  • Kids 8+

  • Low energy

Meet Daisy & Duke

Everyone wants to cuddle with loved ones for Valentine’s Day! Meet Daisy & Duke, both 73-lb cuddle-bugs. These two 7 yr old labs are a bonded pair who would love to bond with you, too! They are looking for a home with a fenced-in yard. Low energy, Daisy & Duke enjoy following you around the house & then settling down near you.

Daisy & Duke are house trained & don’t counter-surf or trash-dive; they are trustworthy at home for several hours (without crating). They get their exercise in a fenced-in yard. Daisy is starting to do short walks on a leash, while Duke is being trained to overcome some anxiety about a harness or leash. They don’t know any commands yet, but both are eager to come to you just because they like your company!

Duke likes to cuddle up next to you in your bed, while Daisy sleeps – and snores! – in her own bed on the floor. Daisy nuzzles up to you and puts her head in your lap; she gives mini-kisses, too. These two lovebugs will be a pleasure to have in your home,

MEDICAL INFO:

These dogs have some arthritis in their hips & back legs. Both are on Gabapentin & Carprofen. Duke is also on Clopamine for anxiety as well as Adequan & Phycox for his joints. Daisy’s arthritis keeps her from going up a full flight of steps, though she manages 3 steps to/from the yard. Duke needs knee surgery for a luxating patella. Even if he is home with you, LRGR will pay for the surgery at LRGR's vet in Richmond with our orthopedic surgeon, but be aware that he’ll need 6-8 weeks for recovery.

Hope you can open your heart during this season of love and bring these snuggle-bugs home.

As you are looking at the photos, Daisy is yellow-white, with more prominent ears, and Duke is a little darker, more of a red-yellow lab.

Bufred
*Available*

Must Know:

  • Bufred, 5-6 year old black male, 87 lbs

  • Dog friendly

  • No cats

  • Kids unknown

  • Medium energy level

Meet  Bufred

The king of expressive looks and head tilts, Bufred is poised to win your heart!

Bufred loves to play and run outside but he’s quick to settle in and get comfy once inside. He loves affection and will lay his big, handsome head in your lap for a good snuggle sesh on the couch.

This sweet boy is happy going for walks, playing in the yard, relaxing at home, pulling every single toy out at one time, and taking naps on his back. Bufred is house trained, is getting very good at “come” and improving with “sit,” walks well with minimal pulling, and is an excellent car rider.

At 5-6 years of age, Bufred is just the sweetest boy who loves human attention but can take a few minutes to warm up to some men. He is less comfortable around pushy, high energy dogs. He will tolerate other dogs, vocalizing his feelings when needed, but mostly he’s indifferent and co-existing. Bufred hasn’t lost touch with his natural instincts and has a fairly strong prey drive. He’ll do best in a home with no other types of pets he could chase.

It’s hard not to fall for Bufred’s loving, silly charm! He’s a fast learner and eager to please. He’ll thrive in a home in a low-traffic neighborhood with a yard and patient humans who can help him adjust as he grows to become your most loyal and loving family member. If you open your heart and home to this big fella, you will be rewarded with love and laughter for years to come!

Meet  Molly

Single yellow female seeking furever home. I’m a playful, energetic 1.5 year old female looking for a home with a backyard and maybe even a canine companion. My favorite first date would definitely involve food because I am very food-motivated. Please swipe right on me!

I have been staying in my crate during the work day and then am ready to have fun when you get home. My favorite activity has been wrestling and playing with my foster canine brother. I also love walks! I am easy to walk and wag my tail at other dogs to let them know how friendly I am. I am both house-trained and crate-trained. I sit pretty for a treat and can entertain myself with an antler or bone.

I am a little more cautious when new people come into the house, but I warm up to them shortly and then reward them with love and kisses. And I have lots of love and kisses to offer my future lifetime companion, too! If you swipe right on me, I’ll follow you around the house. After a walk or playtime, I’ll roll over on my back with my head in your lap so we can play patty-cake! And then I’ll cuddle up in your room for the night.

Haven’t you always wanted to fall in love with a young blonde female? Swipe right on me to make your dreams come true!

Gus
*Available*

Must Know:

  • Gus, 1 year old, male

  • Dog friendly - required to have a buddy

  • Cat friendly

  • Kid friendly, 8+

  • Medium energy

Meet Gus

Hiya friends, my name is Gus. I am a playful one year old dog’s dog and I really love to play with other four legged friends! Playing chase and wrestling with my K-9 buddies is the highlight of my day. I can be a little nervous in new situations and need just a little time to warm up. I will try my very best if you give me lots of encouragement. I am more confident when I’m with my buddies. A quick “you got this, Gus!” is the key to my heart. I am so excited to meet my forever family so they can teach me everything I need to know.

I am very dog friendly and submissive - I really enjoy their companionship. My new house is required to have a pup friend for me so I can gain lots of confidence! I also am cat friendly - I am the most loving guy once I settle in. When meeting new people I can be a little timid but I have been told, I am a gentleman!

I have been learning a lot with my foster family and have almost mastered “sit!” I am food motivated; this is good because it will help me during training. As the resident good boy, I have been described as submissive, loveable, and playful. I love to be around my people, go for adventure walks, play with toys and other pup friends.

Meet  Camo

Hey there, I go by Camo. Known as the gentle giant, I'm a 3-year-old sociable dog with a moderate level of energy, always eager to make new friends. I adore being pampered with rubs and affection, and I'm all about playtime. Confident and at my best when surrounded by other pups, I'm excited to showcase my latest trick: mastering the stairs and doggy door. While I'm still perfecting my stay, I've nailed sitting and lying down. I'm also honing my leash skills during our walks. My owner's slippers and stuffed toys are my favorite playthings, and I tend to claim them as my own. The vacuum cleaner spooks me a little, but I find joy in munching on ice cubes and quenching my thirst from the garden hose when outdoors. With a fenced-in backyard, I have plenty of space to romp around until I'm ready for a well-deserved rest.

Meet Finney

Looking for a lovable goofball with a heart of gold? Meet Finney, the wiggle-tailed wonder who's ready to steal your heart!

This gentle giant is the perfect blend of playful energy and laid-back charm. Finney's wagging tail and wiggling body are always ready to greet new friends, whether they're on two legs or four. With his easy-going nature and love for companionship, this 2-year-old sweetheart is sure to bring joy and laughter to any home.

Finney is a quick learner who's already mastered several commands and is eager to please. He's great with children, showing remarkable gentleness with his 3-year-old buddy. Finney's adaptability shines through in his calm demeanor during car rides, storms, and even visits to the vet. This social butterfly loves making new canine friends and is always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war in his favorite fenced yard.

Finney has been known to "borrow" the occasional dirty sock for an impromptu game of keep-away, and he might need a gentle reminder that countertops aren't for exploring. But with his endearing habit of greeting his human at the first sound of the alarm clock and his penchant for showing off his speed with backyard zoomies, it's impossible not to fall in love with this goofy guy.

Finney is the perfect companion for an active family or individual who can provide him with daily walks, playtime, and lots of love and snuggles. With a fenced yard to run in and maybe even a canine sibling to play with, Finney will thrive. This sweet boy has come so far in just a few months and is ready to continue his journey of growth and love with his forever family. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving addition to your home, Finney might just be the perfect match!
