                                             LRGR Foster To Adopt

The Foster to Adopt (FTA) program offers a wonderful chance for LRGR to assist a dog requiring rescue. Approved adopters can pair with an FTA-approved dog, intending to adopt. Throughout the FTA period, LRGR ensures the dog is examined by one of our approved veterinarians, receiving all necessary vaccines, fecal and heartworm tests, and spay/neuter procedures at our cost.

Meet Luigi

My name is Luigi.

I’ve been waiting a long time for you to find me. It’s been nearly three years since I first came to LRGR. Every day I hope for the moment when I finally get to walk through the door of my very own home. I’m ready to give all of my love to someone special—maybe that’s you.

I’m not the typical dog. I’m a bit of a quiet soul, a little reserved, but once you understand me, I promise I’ll give you my whole heart. I’m deeply loyal, and I’ll always stand by you. I can be the most loving companion, but I need someone who is patient and willing to take the time to get to know me. I thrive in a calm, peaceful environment. I find comfort in routine and in knowing what’s coming next. I need a home where things are steady and predictable, where I can feel safe and secure.

When I first meet people, I might seem a little distant. It’s not because I don’t want to love—I do, so much. But I need to trust you first. And when I do? You’ll have a friend for life. I’ll be by your side through thick and thin, offering you unwavering loyalty and love in its purest form. There’s something so special about the bond I share with those who take the time to understand me.

I’m not a fan of loud noises or too much commotion. I don’t like the chaos of a home with children. I need be in a quieter space, where I can feel the peace that I crave. If you’re an adult only home who can offer me that, I promise I’ll fill your home with so much joy and affection.

I love getting outside. Trail walks and hikes are some of my absolute favorite things to do. I also enjoy swimming and playing with my doggy friends, especially those who can match my playful energy. If you have a dog who’s up for fun and adventure, I’ll be more than happy to join in! I just need space to run, a safe yard where I can stretch my legs and feel free.

I’ve been here a long time, and every day I dream of a family to call my own. It’s hard, sometimes, feeling like I’m waiting… but I know that the right person is out there. If you’re patient, kind, and understanding, I promise I will be the best companion you could ever ask for. My love is endless, my heart is open, and I’m waiting for the moment when I can finally be yours.

If you think you could be the one to give me a home, please take a chance on me. I may not be like every other dog, but that’s what makes me special. I know I have so much to give, and I’m just waiting for you to see it.

With all the love I have to give,
Luigi

Ivory is a 5-year-old gentle soul with a heart as soft as her name. At 78 pounds, she may be a big girl, but she’s a true couch potato who lives for cozy snuggles and quiet moments by your side.

Ivory is dog-friendly and knows how to peacefully coexist with other pups, though she’s more of a calm companion than a playful partner. She's perfectly content being your one and only, especially if you're home often—she loves nothing more than being near her people.

At home, Ivory is the ultimate snugglebug. She’ll gladly hop into bed, lay her head near yours, and offer her belly for rubs. Her calm, affectionate nature makes her the perfect partner for someone seeking steady companionship and unconditional love.

Meet Daisy

Are you ready to change a dog's life? Let me introduce you to Daisy, a 6-year-old female Labrador with a heart full of potential. Daisy was initially purchased for breeding and spent most of her life in a pen with four other dogs. However, her life took a turn for the better when Lab Rescue came to her aid.

Now, thanks to her foster family, Daisy is experiencing the warmth and love of living inside a home. This transition has been quite the journey for her, filled with new sights, sounds, and people. The stress of these changes has been a challenge for her, but slowly she is improving and her training is beginning to reshape her emotions.

Daisy has amazed everyone with her leash skills. She walks calmly by your side, taking slow strolls and fully engaging in sniffing and absorbing her surroundings. Trust is paramount for Daisy, and once she builds it, she will follow her person everywhere.

Toys were an unfamiliar concept to Daisy in her early life, but she is slowly discovering the joy of play. She has started to enjoy snuffle mats, Kongs, feeder balls, and lick mats. Daisy even plays with a few plush toys and her large rope toy. Her progress has been heartwarming to witness.

Daisy continues to overcome her past and make strides forward. She is looking for a quiet home where she can explore the world at a leisurely pace, savoring every new experience. Could you be the person who gives Daisy the loving forever home she deserves?

Bella
*Pending Adoption*

Must Know:

  • Bella, 5 years old, 55lbs

  • Cat’s unknown

  • Dog friendly (she lived with another dog her age)

  • Medium Energy Level

  • Children: Lived with teenagers & wags her tail when she sees younger kids

  • Fenced Yard Preferred

  • Health: Bella will be spayed in Richmond on June 9th. She is heartworm positive and will have heartworm injections at the end of June.

Meet Bella

Meet Bella, a 5-year-old Labrador mix with a heart as big as her love for tennis balls—one is almost always in her mouth! This sweet girl came to us as an owner surrender—her previous family couldn’t keep up with her medical needs. But despite it all, Bella greets every day (and every person!) with a tail wag and a belly ready for rubs.

Now in foster care and available for adoption, Bella doesn’t need to wait for her upcoming spay and heartworm treatment to start her new chapter. She is medium-energy, house-trained, and an expert cuddler. Her perfect day includes a few rounds of fetch (her absolute favorite), cozy nap spots, and someone to share quiet moments with.

She’s learning to walk on a leash, exploring new sights and sounds and bravely facing nighttime yard adventures (though she still prefers someone by her side when it’s dark out). Her goofy ball-in-the-water-bowl habit and her sweet “sploot” naps are just some of the quirks that make her unforgettable.

Bella’s ideal home would have a fenced yard, older kids to toss a ball for her, and someone ready to shower her with affection. While she’d probably enjoy a dog friend, her heart really belongs to people.

She’s already shown us what a gem she is—now she just needs a forever family to show her the love she deserves.
