Foster To Adoption!

​What Is Foster-to-Adoption?

Foster-to-adoption gives approved adopters the opportunity to welcome a dog into their home on a trial basis while deciding if it’s the right long-term match. During this period, the dog is still considered "in foster," and our rescue continues to provide support, guidance, and cover approved medical expenses. Once you know it’s love, you complete the adoption!

How It Works

  1. Apply – Submit an adoption application and indicate your interest in foster-to-adopt.

  2. Match – Our team will help match you with a dog who’s a good fit for your home and lifestyle.

  3. Trial Period – Transport provided by LRGR.  Take a couple of weeks to get to know the dog. 

  4. Vet Care- Veterinary expenses are covered during the foster period (routine care, preventatives, and any necessary treatments)

  5. Adopt – If it’s a match, we finalize the adoption and celebrate your new family member!

Murphy is currently looking for a Foster-to-Adopt family! Lab Rescue will cover his neuter and vaccines, and his foster family will have full support from our team as he transitions to becoming a beloved member of the family.

If you’re looking for a dog who’s equal parts fun, affectionate, and loyal, Murphy might be your guy! This big, goofy sweetheart loves everyone he meets — adults, kids, and dogs alike. He’s social, confident, and always ready to play, but once the fun is over, he’s perfectly happy to stretch out for a good nap (often on his back!) or curl up next to you for some love.

Murphy enjoys yard play and running around, so a fenced yard would be perfect for him. He’s a medium-energy boy — active outside but calm inside. He loves an adventure and is learning not to pull on the leash. Murphy is food-motivated and smart, so continued training will come easily with a few treats and praise.

This lovable guy sleeps quietly in his crate all night but would be thrilled to share the bed if invited. He’s house-trained, great with kids of all ages, and gets along well with other friendly dogs.
